Adobe Expands Photoshop CS Camera Raw File Support
Press Release - April 26, 2004
Adobe Systems Inc. on Monday released an update to its Adobe Photoshop CS Camera Raw plug-in, which is used to process images from digital cameras using their proprietary "raw" file formats. The new update adds support for 13 additional cameras, and can be downloaded for free from Adobe's website. New digital camera models from Canon, Contax, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Nikon, Olympus and Sigma have been added.
The Raw plug-in enables digital photographers to manipulate their camera's pictures without having to convert the files to another format - "digital negatives," so to speak. The support for the 13 new cameras brings the total number of supported models to 63. New to this release is support for Canon's EOS-1D MARK II and PowerShot Pro 1; Fujifilm's FinePix F710 Z and FinePix S20 Pro; Kodak's DCS Pro 14nx and DCS Pro SLR/n; Konica Minolta's DiMAGE A2; Nikon's D70 and Coolpix 8700; Olympus' C-8080 Wide Zoom and Sigma's SD9 and SD10 models.
